Balenciaga’s Blackout City Bag

Gone with the Fashion Month blues, it’s back to regular programming today! As you probably already know, I’m a Balenciaga fangirl (but possibly not their runway collections, especially of late, heh!) and Blackout City bag, is rather mind-boggling. I know that other luxury brands have the All-Black hardware (read: Hermès, Chanel, and Valentino’s Noir series) so that the hardware looks almost invisible, but THIS I really just don’t get. I mean, they have pinhole perforations with the classic Balenciaga look so it’s still unmistakable in that sense, but I mean, there’s no longer any hardware on the bag — it was the hardware that made me fall in love with it in the first place all those years ago! Plus, the holes where the studs usually are, looks as if it’s the skeletal remains of what used to be a Balenciaga City, which has now decomposed. Ugh, I really don’t like this. It’s way too flat on the surface, and come to think of it, probably something one can DIY too, all you need is a pin and a hole punch and you’re good to go. For all you crafty peeps, next DIY project, anyone?
