If you’ve walked past a Balenciaga store recently, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen the new Hourglass bag in the window. This latest top handle style is pretty unique in terms of its silhouette. Thanks to its curved base, there isn’t really any bag quite like this one.

Called the Hourglass because of its hourglass shape (though personally I don’t really see it), but some have resorted to nicknaming this the Eiffel Tower bag because it resembles that more closely than the hourglass. Apart from its shape, the other thing you’d immediately notice is that large “B” from the new logo, dangling from the centre of the bag’s flap, which is fitted with a magnetic closure. Available in 3 sizes (XS, S, and M), they come with an adjustable and detachable crossbody strap, in an array of vibrant colours like “acid fuchsia” and red, as well as neutrals such as grey, and black.

I’d give the Hourglass an A+ for novelty because unlike Demna Gvasalia’s other bags for Balenciaga, this one isn’t as “out-there” as the rest.
