Watches Wednesday: Rolex Daytona Rainbow in Everose Gold

Based on the response that the Rolex GMT-Master II “Batman” garnered, it’s safe to say that the newly debuted Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” in stainless steel, is another timepiece that watch collectors would be snapping up pretty quickly. But, nothing beats this latest offering that the brand just unveiled at Baselworld 2018: the Daytona “Rainbow” in Everose Gold finish.

Set with 36 baguette-cut sapphires in graduated colours that literally make up  all colours of the rainbow, on the bezel and hour markers on the dial, and a total of 56 diamonds on the lugs and crown guards bling up this 40mm timepiece even more. With an anti-fade and anti-tarnish rose gold alloy developed by the Swiss manufacture, the sub-dials of the chronograph have also undergone a crystallisation process in to produce an illusion of pink gold crystals on them.

Rolex Daytona Rainbow Everose Gold

This 18k Everose Gold version is the successor of both the yellow and white gold versions of the Daytona “Rainbow”, that were introduced at Baselworld back in 2012. Still is still a hot item in the secondary watch market, these “Rainbow” timepieces have more than doubled in price in comparison to the original, which was priced at US$86,000. What a brilliant move this is by the Swiss Maison, to launch this Everose Gold version when rose gold fever is at its peak.

Now, here’s a closer look at this magnificent timepiece that’s sure to get any “baller” excited over …

Available in extremely limited pieces, the Everose Gold Rainbow is already an instant cult piece that everyone’s talking about, so this is certainly one to watch out for (pun intended).
