Watches Wednesday: Montblanc Star Legacy Exo Tourbillon Skeleton Limited Edition 8

Montblanc‘s Star Legacy Exo Tourbillon Skeleton Limited Edition 8 is now fully skeletonised into this swoon-worthy sexy piece. This exquisite timepiece is powered by an updated version of the original patented in-house developed Exo Tourbillon complication featuring the manual-winding Calibre MB M18.69 movement, which took an 18 months to devel0p due to the complexity of trying to balance out the multiple level three-dimensional construction of all the elements of the 188 components which it is made up of. After all, it isn’t often that we get to see a skeletonised movement from every conceivable angle, and get a 360-degree view –a technical feat made possible by the Manufacture’s artisans and master craftsmen.

Montblanc Star Legacy Exo Tourbillon Skeleton Limited Edition 8 Watch Front View

The case, made of a domed sapphire crystal front, was actually built around the watch’s movement, which has ben attached on the insides of the 44.8mm 18k rose gold case, giving the illusion of complete suspension thanks to its clear back and front. Its off-centred dial is placed on the movement at 12 o’clock and made of 18k gold and Grand Feu enamel, with 18k rose gold leaf hour and minute hands. A brown Sfumato alligator leather strap with a triple folding clasp with security pushers leaves the watch firmly affixed onto the wearer’s wrist.

Only 8 pieces of this Star Legacy Exo Tourbillon Skeleton are available worldwide, with each retailing at approximately €138,000. Now, this is certainly the stuff any watch collector’s dreams are made of *insert starry-eyed emoji here*Ah, be still, our hearts because as you all know, skeleton watches are our weakness!
