Watches Wednesday: Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Rendezvous Moon Serenity

Jaeger-LeCoultre launches yet another addition to the Rendez-Vous collection: the Rendez-Vous Moon Serenity, which made its debut as one of this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) novelties.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Moon Serenity SIHH 2019 Novelties

Just like the moon aglow in night skies, the nocturnally-themed Rendez-Vous Moon Serenity replicates this with a timepiece that’s completely in blue, with a mother-of-pearl moon phase juxtaposed against against a satin-brushed star chart. It’s blue inner dial also maps out constellations in the night sky on a starry evening. Only the hours 9 to 3 are visible on the top half of the dial, forming a beautiful arc. With 62 glittering brilliant-cut diamonds set on its pink gold bezel, the 36mm Rendez-Vous Moon Serenity is powered by the manufacture’s automatic Calibre 935 movement, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

With the lunar theme on this timepiece, the one thing that kept playing in my head while writing this, was the song “Vincent”  (Starry, Starry, Night) by Don McLean, or perhaps you may be more familiar with the Josh Groban version. Perfect soundtrack to this tantalising timepiece right here, don’t you think? 😉
