Watches Wednesday: Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Rendez-Vous Sonatina
Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced 3 variations of the Rendez-Vous Sonatina that was designed around the theme “Peaceful Nature”. The Maison once again enlists the master craftsmen of the Métiers Rares™ for the micro-painted orchids and butterflies on a mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds on these Limited Edition timepieces. And, though these elements certainly reflect nature and the natural environment, they were chosen for their significance: orchids, which the Chinese, for over 3000 years, regard as a symbol of grace and charm; and butterflies, which represent metamorphosis, hope and life.
The dials are also engraved with a scalloped guilloché motif that enhances the tonal variations of the mother-of-pearl, and the flower-shaped aperture is where the Night & Day indicator rest, flanked by an oval-shaped ring of diamonds. Powered by the manufacture’s Calibre 735 self-winding movement developed specifically for the Sonatina, this 328mm this Limited Edition women’s timepiece also comes with a melodious chime, which functions as a sort of alarm, if you will.
Available in purple, nude, or green orchid, these delicate watches come encased in pink gold, and are paired with a matching alligator strap. Limited to just 8 pieces of each.
