Watches Wednesday: Jaeger-LeCoultre’s New Dazzling Rendez-Vous Red
Jaeger-LeCoultre debuted its new Dazzling Rendez-Vous range comprising of the Dazzling Rendez-Vous Night & Day and the Dazzling Rendez-Vous Moon at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH). The Maison has introduced yet another addition to the family, at the recent 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival: the Dazzling Rendez-Vous Red. Aptly so, as this fiery, scarlet hue, has close associations with China. Traditionally, red signifies good fortune, and prosperity.
The new Dazzling Rendez-Vous Red comes a pink gold case, white mother-of-pearl dial, white round brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel that are in turn, surrounded by rubies, with 12 diamonds set in the lugs, as well as a diamond in the crown. If this wasn’t enough, JLC upped the ante by utilising a prong setting for the rubies – one of the most demanding jewellery techniques that requires meticulous precision, to achieve that illusion of “floating” rubies. Powered by the Manufacture’s self-winding Calibre 898B/1 movement, the Night/Day display on this 36mm timepiece is visible at 6 o’clock to with a sun or golden crescent moon to as an indicator.
Glamorous and evening-appropriate, this exquisite timepiece is Limited to 8 pieces worldwide.
