Watches Wednesday: Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Ferdinand Holler “Metiérs Rares” Reverso
This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the death of Swiss artist Ferdinand Holler by showcasing his artworks in a series of three Reverso Tribute Enamel watches. Holler is known for his depictions of Switzerland’s lakes and mountains, and since this brings to mind the Vallée de Joux, the birthplace of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture in 1833, the Maison has selected 3 of his artworks, namely, Lake Geneva with Mont Blanc in the Morning Light (1918), Lake Thun with Symmetric Reflections Before Sunrise (1904), and Lake Thun, Symmetric Reflection (1909).
With over 50 hours required to meticulously reproduce Holler’s masterpieces on each 3cm² surface on each timepiece, it’s no wonder that all of these 3 models are extremely rare, with only 8 pieces of each available globally.
