Watches Wednesday: Jaeger-LeCoultre x Casa Fagliano for SIHH 2018

Jaeger-LeCoultre has collaborated with celebrated Argentianian bootmakers Casa Fagliano for the 2018 Salon de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH). The result? The Reverso Tribute Duoface in a pink gold case, inspired by the 1931 model, with 2 contrasting dials, each displaying a different timezone. The local time is shown on a silvered dial with 2 finishes – a Clous de Paris guilloché as the background, and an opaline finish at its centre.

Casa Fagliano’s involvement in this timepiece is evident in the two-tone cordovan leather strap handcrafted by Argentianian leather artisans. One of Argentina’s most renowned bookmakers, Casa Fagliano is a family-run business that was founded in 1892.

This unique timepiece is a Limited Edition piece, with just 100 of these available globally, and exclusive to JLC boutiques. Flip over to the back casing and you’d notice “Limited Edition – xx of 100” engraved onto it.

I think this makes for a pretty interesting, yet unexpected partnership, and the dual-tone strap with the overstitching really gives the Art Deco design of the watch a more rugged, and vintage sort of vibe that’s rather refreshing due to the surprise factor. What say you?
