Watches Wednesday: IWC’s “Le Petit Prince” and Antoine De Saint Exupéry Special Editions

IWC debuted 2 Le Petit Prince and an Antoine de Saint Exupéry Special Edition Pilot Watches at the recent Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) earlier this year – all of which come with a blue dial, as a tribute to the Little Prince.

IWC Pilot's Watch Constant Force Tourbillon Le Petit Prince Edition SIHH 2019

The Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Le Petit Prince Edition are the very first pilot’s watches with a constant force tourbillon. This also marks the first time that a hard gold watch case was used on IWC timepieces – harder and 5 to 10 times more wear-resistant, new version of red gold. If gold isn’t your colour, this special edition of the Big Pilot’s timepiece also comes in a platinum case. But, regardless of your choice of casing, both of these versions come with a blue dial, rhodium-plated hands, and a brown calf leather strap with topstitched details for a more rugged look. Personally, I prefer the gold, because it goes so much better with the brown strap. Just 10 pieces of each are made, making it perfect for all you watch collectors out there.

IWC Pilots Watch Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Edition Le Petit Prince

IWC’s Antoine de Saint Exupéry edition of the Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is yet another groundbreaking milestone because it’s the first time that the manufacture has combined a perpetual calendar with a chronograph function –  a testament to the brand’s fine watchmaking expertise. Powered with a calibre 94805 constant-force tourbillon with a perpetual moon phase calendar display integrated at 12 o’clock on the chronograph counter. The Little Prince stands on the moon on this 250 piece Limited Edition timepiece with a 18k red gold case, 18k gold hands, brown strap.
