Watches Wednesday: Bell & Ross BR03-94 HOROLUM & BR03-92 HOROBLACK
Last year, Bell & Ross launched its Horo line with the BR03-92 Horolum. Ahead of Baselworld 2018 that takes place later this week, here’s a preview of the brand’s two novelties that will be unveiled at the event.
If you’re wondering what the term «Horo» means, it has to do with the brand’s matte micro blasted steel on the boxes and dials, ad a sandwich dial for an optimal readability. For this year’s new watches from the series, the BR03-94 Horolum and the BR03-92 Horoblack, the “pilot watch” still sports the “circle in a square” dial: Bell & Ross’s iconic shape, modelled after the cockpit’s clock.
First up, the BR03-94 Horolum. It stays true to its namesake as the timepiece comes with the Superluminova® treatment, yep, the “lum” stands for “luminous”, particularly those luminous markings on the dial so that the wearer will be able to tell the time regardless whether day or night. The 42mm watch comes with an automatic mechanical BR-CAL.301 calibre, a grey-green calfskin strap, and is Limited to 500 pieces.
The BR03-92 Horoblack is a three-hands model, that comes with a more fuss-free, and “utilitarian” aesthetic, compared to its counterpart. Both the dial and the case come in the same type of finishing, and as such, gives off the impression as if they’re melded together as a whole. Fitted with the BR-CaL.302. automatic mechanical calibre, this timepiece is a Limited Edition of 999 pieces.
