Montblanc’s Limited Edition Malaysia 60 Commemorative Collection
Montblanc celebrates Malaysia’s 60th year of independence with the commemorative Montblanc 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim Malaysia 60 Edition. Limited to only SIX numbered pieces – with one to represent each decade – the dial features a hand-painted map of Malaysia. This special timepiece was developed using Montblanc’s Villeret manufacture, in the Minerva watchmaking workshop, founded in 1858.
The lower section of the 42mm dial showcases the Côtes de Genève motif to highlight the ExoTourbilon construction at 6 o’clock, and a single rhodium-plated XII with skeletonised hands. What I actually love about this watch is that the underside is curved so that it hugs the contours of your wrists.
Alongside the watch, there’s also the Montblanc Malaysia 60 Fine Stationery. Available in red, blue and yellow, these colours are especially significant because they’re the colours on the jalur gemilang, or, the Malaysian flag. These notebooks come with a Saffiano leather cover with a small Montblanc emblem on its cover. Limited to 248 units per colour at RM280 each, the insider cover of these Fine Stationery notebooks has an artistic impression of several Malaysian landmarks – the Sultan Abdul Samad building, the Petronas Twin Towers, the Kuala Lumpur Tower, and Malaysia’s First Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, in his now iconic pose with his right hand in the air, when he proclaimed Malaysia’s independence.
The Montbalnc Malaysia 60 Commemorative Collection will be available in Montblanc’s Pavilion and Suria KLCC boutiques from August 2017!
