Montblanc Donates Vintage Time Piece For Only Watch 2017 Charity Auction
Welcome to another edition of Watches Wednesday!
Montblanc partners with Only Watch, an international watchmaking charity biennale auction of unique timepieces. With HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, as its patron, this charity event, along with all its unique watches, will embark on a world tour that begins in Monaco, and continues on to Asia, the Gulf, the US, and Europe, before the final auction in Geneva on November 11th 2017. 100% of proceeds from the sale of these watches will be donated to scientific and medical research. For this year’s auction, Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzski comments that “Montblanc is pleased to contribute a timepiece to Only Watch to help further research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy and help those suffering from this illness all over the world”.
Like all of Montblanc’s timepieces, this 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Unique Piece Only Watch’17 utilises the Minerva Manufacture. It also pays tribute to the House’s award-winning watch, the 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue Limited Edition 100, which received the prestigious Grand Prix d’horlogerie of Geneva 2016 for best Chronograph. In this spirit, Montblanc has chosen this same movement and mechanism, and a 44mm bronze casing to go with it, to enhance that Vintage feel. This collector’s piece is truly made complete with the non-allergenic, titanium bronze-plated back casing, engraved with the inscription “Unique Piece – Only Watch’17”.
