The Salon International de Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) trade fair for timepieces is currently happening right now! And though I may be a crazy bag lady, I’m also a huge fan of luxury timepieces, especially skeleton or semi-skeleton watches, tourbillons, an astrotourbillons. Sigh, if only we had all the money in the world to splurge on these legit arm candies!

One of my favourites from this year’s SIHH trade fair is Cartier’s Rotonde De Cartier Skeleton Mysterious Hour Watch because duh, the skeleton, lol, and also the oversized roman numerals with a 9983 MC calibre. Okay, so at this point, you’re probably wondering where the mystery is in this timepiece, since it’s a “mysterious hour watch”. The mystery lies in the incorporation of a “mysterious movement”, which is an in-house complication introduced over a century ago in 1912 when it debuted the mystery clocks. The watch’s hands are actually not linked to the movement, but instead attached to 2 sapphire discs (one for the hour and one for the minute hand) with teeth, which are activated by the movement. It only comes in a 42mm size, which I love, because hey, the chunkier, the better, well, at least for me anyway.
