Watches Wednesday: Bell & Ross BR S Golden Heritage & BR126 Sport Heritage GMT & Flyback

Welcome to the Valentine’s Day edition of Watches Wednesday. Yep, I haven’t forgotten about you peeps who aren’t celebrating the Lunar New Year! 😉 We’re exactly a week away from Hearts day, so how about some matchy-matchy timepieces by Bell & Ross  so you can wear your hearts on your wrist (instead of your sleeves?)

Though not sold together, these have been paired with the intention of being “his” and “hers” timepieces. Personally, I wouldn’t actually want to label them or assign genders to them as such, because I’d wear both of these watches myself. In fact, I always tend to prefer men’s over women’s watches anyway – the chunkier, the better … or at least, that’s how I roll.

First up, there’s the BR S Golden Heritage. This is probably the one most of us would recognise as a Bell & Ross timepiece, thanks to its iconic the square face. This automatic 39mm watch comes with a gold calfskin strap, and the Gilt skeleton Superluminova®-filled hour and minute hands, so you’d be able to tell the time even in the dark. Retailing at MYR 13,500, it’s a pretty decent price for an automatic watch, don’t you think?

The BR126 Sport Heritage GMT & Flyback Limited Edition, on the other hand, is a chronograph with a flyback function, for quick resetting of the chronograph timer. This 43mm mechanical automatic watch comes with a second 24-hour time zone, and a 60 second timer. Like the BR S Golden Heritage, the Gilt skeleton Superluminova®-filled hour and minute hands, as well as the numerals and indexes, allows you to tell the time in the dark. Limited to 500 pieces globally, you can get this for MYR 30,400.

I have to say that I personally prefer the latter, and it isn’t because it’s a Limited Edition piece, either. It’s just that, besides skeleton watches, I also have a soft spot for chronograph watches, because I just love the details of the mini dials within the bigger dials. Yes, I tend to be a sucker for little aesthetic details like these. Heh.

Both these timepieces are available at Bell & Ross Boutiques at Pavilion KL, The Gardens Mall, Gurney Plaza Penang, and select authorised retailers.
