Audimars Piguet celebrates its 40th Anniversary of the women’s Royal Oak timepiece. To celebrate this milestone, the brand released a Frosted Gold edition of the watch at the recent 2017 Salon Internationale de la Haute Horlorgerie (SIHH) exhibition. Designed in collaboration with Florentine jewellery designer Carolina Bucci, the watch is available in both white and pink gold, which comes in 2 sizes (33mm and 37mm).

Okay I know that you’re thinking “Frosted” probably means matte and dull, but guess what? Thanks to AP’s expertise in fine jewellery techniques, particularly of the ancient gold hammering technique that was incorporated into this timepiece, the textured surface actually shimmers. In all honesty, when I first saw the product photo in the press kit when I received it back in January, I couldn’t really understand what the hype was about, but after having seen how it looks like on the wrist, and how it looks so much more precious after seeing how it creates the illusion of sparkly diamond dust when it catches the light, I was sold, and I just HAD to feature it right here!
