Chinese New Year is less than three weeks away! Bottega Veneta has introduced a selection of leather goods, shoes, and jewellery for both men and women in celebration of the Year of the Pig. In Chinese culture, the pig has always been a symbol of luck and fortune, and Bottega’s special CNY offerings has the Pig (in both leather and enamel) front and centre on charms, keyrings, men’s jewellery including rings and cufflinks. And, since red is considered the “colour of prosperity and good fortune”, Bottega’s palette for this collection, is made up of various shades of red and pink: Baccara Rose, Deco Rose, China Red, and Poppy.

Aside from the piggy-themed jewellery and accessories for men, there will also be a range of SLGs including wallets, pouches, tech accessories, bags, and slip-ons, in the Tartan Dots motif – a new serigraphic print on nappa leather on the classic intrecciato weave, which gives off the illusion of 3-dimensional tartan – from the Cruise 2019 collection.

And, for women, the folks at Bottega have not forgotten the most important pièce de résistance: the handbag. How gorgeous does the Piazza bag look in Baccara Rose with an China Red and Poppy intrecciato strap?

As for me, I’m all for fun and whimsy, so the piggy items in this collection are my faves. 😉
