Toosday Shoesday: Roger Vivier’s New Broche Slingbacks and Ballerinas
Roger Vivier‘s new Creative Director Gherardo Felloni, has breathed new life into the storied Italian shoe brand, with his debut Spring 2019 collection. He reinterpreted Roger Vivier’s signature pilgrim buckle by giving it flatter, wider design and a more geometric heel, he renamed what was known as the Belle Vivier, as the Très Viver. That said, my favourites are actually these Broche slingback and ballerinas, which are actually my favourites from his first collection for Vivier.
What Felloni has done for both the slingback and ballerina flats, is made these slightly more casual, with the use of a floral motif fabric in pretty pastel hues like baby blue and blush, inspired by the gardens at Versailles. These shoes also come with the more symmetrical revamped buckle. Sure, fabric may be casual, but with the buckle embellished with Swarovski crystals, these could also work well for night. In short, Felloni gave us the perfect day-to-night shoes right here.
