Prada’s Etiquette Bags

To many of us, the term “Etiquette” is usually understood as manners, behaviour, or a code of conduct, in particular social settings and contexts. But guess what – etiquette, translated from French, also means “label”. And it is with this particular definition in mind, that Prada used as a design philosophy behind the latest Etiquette collection of bags.

You might remember me saying, way back when I did the Fall/Winter 17 bags report during Milan Fashion Week,  that Prada seems to have replaced the logo on most of the FW17 bags, with the one commonly found on the women’s ready-to-wear collection. This is exactly what they have done, but the only difference is that the logo on the Etiquette bags are stamped on leather, and the usual “P R A D A” block lettering logo we usually see on the bag’s exterior can now be found instead on the bag’s suede interior. So why did Miuccia do this? The primary motivation, was to make a statement about the interchangeability of a logo and what it represents.

Oh and what’s more, the Etiquette collection comes in the 4 different colours shown above (marine blue, black, white, and dusty pink) and 3 styles – a tote (with or without studs), a foldover flap, and a crossbody. Supple and extremely lightweight, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan are the first countries to launch this exclusive crossbody model for RM 9,800 shown above! I, for one couldn’t be more stoked at this news, because hardly ever any new bags are launched first in Malaysia, let alone anything exclusive like this!!

P.S. Watch out for photos of the new Prada KLCC store coming up on the blog this weekend! 😉
