Gosh how time flies, and just like that, another year has come and gone!

It’s right about this time that I start to reminisce. Well, I guess that’s what most of us do during this time of the year, isn’t it? And this is probably one of the very few posts in which you’d actually hear about my personal life…

This year, I embarked on my PhD journey (my dissertation is on fashion 😉 ) Despite the periods of stress along the way, I’m happy that I chose a topic that I love because it really makes it much easier especially during times when I feel like procrastinating. And not to sound corny or anything, but it is really true when they say “do what you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”.

Okay, well a PhD is still hard work (and when deadlines are looming, I find it difficult to find the time to even blog) but at least I get to truly immerse myself in fashion by reading up on it, watch fashion documentaries and films as part of my research so it’s like work and play at the same time. What more could I ask for? I’m also thankful for the friends that have been there supporting me in times of stress. You know who you are!

Academia aside, and moving on to more fashion-related matters, this year has also been a good one for this blog. The biggest highlight of 2013 would have to be my Gucci campaign being one out of the 40 bloggers in total selected globally, and the only blogger from Malaysia – something that wouldn’t have been possible without you, my dear readers and followers, to whom I shall be eternally grateful.

This year was also the first time bags were up for grabs in my giveaways – a Proenza Schouler PS1 thanks to Gorgeous by Sha Shaari, and more recently, the Cambridge Satchel, courtesy of The Bag Deli. Thank you so much to both of you for your generosity!

And now, let’s eat our hearts out and forget about that waistline and enjoy the turkey feasts and eat ourselves into food comas before we begin our Fashion Week diets!
