Burberry Collaborates With Russian Designer Gosha Rubchinskiy

Firstly, Happy Father’s Day! Since it’s Father’s Day, I thought I’d post up something dedicated to men’s fashion, because I certainly don’t want you, my male readers, to feel as if I’ve forgotten about you! 😉 So, today on the blog, I’ll be showcasing a collection developed in collaboration between Burberry and Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy on his latest Spring/Summer 18 menswear collection.

This collaborative 8-piece collection include spanking new interpretations of the Burberry trench, as well as the British House’s signature outerwear styles that have been given the oversized treatment, by the Russian designer, along with shirts, shorts, hats and headpieces, for which Rubchinskiy partnered with renowned British milliner Stephen Jones, to design.

Gosha Rubchinskiy (pictured above), tells us that he has been a long-time admirer of the British brand:

“Burberry has always symbolised the epitome of classic British style to me. Their timeless pieces are the perfect balance to our modern streetwear creating a great mix. I’m very happy with the result of our collaborative work.”

In return, Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bailey, enthuses,

“I have been a big supporter and admirer of Gosha’s creative work for a long time. He has an innate cultural sensibility and I was honoured when he asked us to collaborate together for his new collection. His reinterpretation of some of our most iconic designs, feels exciting, new and relevant whilst paying enormous respect to their British cultural heritage”

What are your thoughts on the collection, and Rubchinskiy’s interpretations of the classic Burberry styles?
