Junya Watanabe For Loewe for Fall 2013

Loewe has collaborated with Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons on a Limited Edition Capsule Collection!

This partnership celebrates Loewe’s Spanish leather (particularly its napa heritage) and Japanese denim as a symbol of Spain’s historical relationship with Japan  that dates back to 400 years ago, marked by the formal dialogue after Hasekura Tsunenaga set out from Tokyo to Madrid to create a trade agreement with the Spanish royal family. Apart from that, 2013 also marks Loewe’s 40th Anniversary since the brand was first made available in Japan!

Although Creative Director Stuart Vevers has since left Loewe, he was the brainchild behind this collaboration that consists of not just ready-to-wear for both men and women, but also their leather goods! And the partnership works both ways – Loewe had actually manufactured several of the pieces on Junya Watanabe’s Autumn/Winter 2013 runway collection presented at Paris Fashion Week in March this year!

The Junya Watanabe x Loewe capsule collection features denim and leather patchwork-styled Amazona bags in 4 different sizes, along with small leather goods like pouches, purses and a tote. Do note that Loewe is temporarily unavailable in KL, so if you want a piece of this collection, you need to head on over to the Loewe boutique at Ngee Ann City in Singapore!
