Dior’s Oblique Accessories Collection For Men
Dior‘s Oblique Collection has long been a mainstay of the Women’s accessories collection, most notably on the handbags and accessories. And, since the return of the logo, Dior’s Artistic Director of Menswear, Kim Jones, brought this iconic Dior monogram into the Men’s Collection, for his Spring/Summer 19 Dior debut.
First introduced in 1967, Jones has reinterpreted the Oblique canvas in black as an all-over motif on several accessories , including a backpack, small accessories such as a series of pouches, which can be either handheld, or slipped inside as a bag for organisational purposes, a Saddle pouch with transformative qualities, allowing it to be worn crossbody-style on the back, handheld, or as a belt bag.
The Roller Bag, that comes with a “CHRISTIAN DIOR” adjustable and detachable nylon strap made of see-through mesh in Oblique motif. Bags aside, the Oblique canvas also appears on both high- and low-top sneakers, which combines the signature motif with microfibre transparency.
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say this again. I’m so happy that Kim Jones has brought elements like the Saddle and Oblique from womenswear over to the Men’s collection, because, these are commonalities that thread through across the men’s, women’s and even children’s collection, to create a unified Dior identity.
