Maria Grazia Chiuri created a Saddle Revival, but thanks to Kim Jones, the iconic Saddle is now part of Dior‘s Men’s Summer 2019 collection too! I, for one, couldn’t be more thrilled, because the introduction of the Saddle to the Men’s line certainly unifies Dior as a whole. This is certainly in line with the Maison’s new direction (you’d have noticed that they’ve recently dropped the “Homme” for menswear), and while the men’s and women’s lines were previously separate entities and truly distinct from one another, there’s now a common thread that ties both together.

As mentioned last week, the Summer 2019 Capsule will be dropping in stages, beginning with the KAWS Capsule featuring the illustrated cartoon bee. Also part of this January drop, the Saddle is front and centre, taking the form of mini pouches which you can use as keyrings and belt attachments, a belt bag, and a crossbody bag.

If you guys are worried that the Saddle may be too feminine for you, fret not. Unlike the women’s versions, the men’s Saddle SLGs and bags have been given a more rugged look, thanks to contrast-coloured top-stitching and the use of grained calfskin in more earthy tones such as brown, navy, olive, and black.
