Christmas Gift Ideas #4: Gifts For Him
While Parts 1 to 3 of our Christmas Gifting Guide were sorted into categories such as Home Decor, Luxury Stationery, and SLGs, respectively, part 4 is compiled into one mixed bag dedicated to gifting ideas for Men. Yep, though there aren’t many posts for you guys in comparison to women’ content right here, trust me, I haven’t forgotten about you! 😉 Now, let’s get right to it!
How about a gift set consisting of office essentials that every guy needs? Nope, I’m not talking about stationery. What I’m referring to, is your entire look for the office. Montblanc‘s Happy Holiday Men’s Essentials Gift Set which includes a pair of iconic round stainless steel cufflinks with black onyx inlay to dress up your office shirt cuffs, a cufflinks pouch in soft grained leather, collar bones to stiffen and smarten up your shirt collars, and of course, a Meisterstück Classique ball point pen for all those cheques and documents that you’d be signing. Mhmm, Montblanc has certainly thought of everything for the classy working gentleman, haven’t they?
For the slightly more fashion-forward guy, perhaps you may want to consider this Dior Saddle Pouch, with contrast coloured topstitching. This fully functional flap-top pouch also doubles as a key ring, as well as an accessory which can be be attached to the pant loops on your trousers or jeans. Dior’s Saddle Bag has been resuscitated from the archives, and is back in a major way, and this version of the Saddle Pouch in for men is honestly, super unisex. When I first saw it on the runways, it went straight to one of the top few items on my wishlist. So, if you don’t want to snag it for the main man/partner in your life, you can totally get it for yourself too, because I certainly am planning to! 😉
If your man prefers something personalised, there’s Gucci‘s knitted DIY Sweater which can be customised with any A-Z alphabet. Available in 4 different colourways – white with navy lettering, blue with orange lettering, red with white lettering or green with white lettering – all of the knitted sweaters come with Gucci’s signature red and Web Stripe on the arms, cuffs, and bottom. The garment labels also come with gold text on a green background with an interlocking GG motif in gold and the blue-red-blue House Web stripe. Each personalised knitted sweater will be packaged in specially designed cream boxes with black edging, decorated with “ABCDEFGUCCI”. Oh, and for those of you in Malaysia who’d like to get a DIY Sweater, just head on over to the Gucci boutique and they’ll help with the shipment.
For guys who love a bit more of an edgy vibe, the Alpa Backpack in printed Monogram Galaxy canvas by Louis Vuitton would definitely be something he likes. With Vuitton’s classic monogram blossoms and LV logo juxtaposed against a background of stars and galaxies, this versatile astronaut-inspired backpack with a double zip-top closure, zippered side pockets, and black hardware will certainly add some street style cred to your man’s entire look.
if you’re shopping for an SLG for your man, my pick would have to be Fauré Le Page’s card holder. We’re all familiar with Goyard, but personally, I prefer the more under-the-radar brand, Fauré Le Page – the oldest French luxury leather goods houses, founded 135 years before Goyard and 137 years before Louis Vuitton – in comparison. This brand produces extremely limited quantities of its bags and SLGs, so that’s another plus point. What I love about this card case are those arc-like bits that are cut out on each slot, making it super easy for you to take your cards out. On the reverse side, you’d see “Paris 1717” positioned exactly in the middle, where “Fauré Le Page” is on the front-facing side. Also, the Art Deco-like motif is so much more classy than than Goyard’s “Y” motif, don’t you think?
If your man is one who frequently travels for work, then cabin-sized luggage would be a practical and useful one. RIMOWA‘s cabin-sized aluminium wheelie case from the Original Collection, complete with its newly upgraded wheels, handle, and interior is practically indestructible and would last him a lifetime. Also, he’d always be thinking of you when he’s travelling 😉 Oh and instead of the classic silver, we’ve picked the one in the colour “Titanium”, which is actually a light champagne gold, because it’s less common, and thus more unique.
Ah sneaker fever is at its peak right now, so no matter what sort of personality your guy may be this Hermés Rapid Sneaker is one of our favourites for the season. Loving the flash of orange and yellow on an otherwise white pair of suede goatskin, technical canvas and calfskin pair of kicks. Oh, and that sideways “H” makes for a lovely detail.
What gift guide for men would be complete without a watch? Audemars Piguet‘s Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra Thin is the ultimate #armswag. Now in a new extra thin model, the Maison’s signature grid-like Tapisserie design morphs into a sunburst “Evolutive” pattern. The 41mm timepiece with the classic blue dial with equipped with tourbillon movement is for the first time, made available in an 18-karat strap and case that’s a mere 9mm thick. If pink gold isn’t your man’s style, this tourbillon watch is also available in a stainless steel case with a plum dial.
