500 by Gucci: Gucci Collaborates with Fiat

Gucci embarks on a special project with Italian automobile company Fiat. This collaboration is known as 500 by Gucci, is in conjunction with Gucci’s 90th Anniversary and Fiat’s 150th Anniversary. Unveiled on the first day of Milan Fashion Week, 500 by Gucci is a special edition of the Fiat 500 that is fully customised by Frida Giannini. This special edition car will also be presented at the Geneva International Auto Show from March 3rd to 13th 2011 in a Gucci pop-up boutique within the Fiat booth.

According to Giannini, this collaboration made sense because the core values of both Fiat and Gucci are “travelling in style” – Gucci for its leather goods and trunks, and Fiat, well, that’s pretty self-explanatory.

This special edition car will be available in either in black or white (and a convertible version that will be released soon). Priced at 17,000 Euros, this car is available exclusively by Pre-Order online at 500 by Gucci from April 1st to June 30th 2011. The car will also be exhibited in all Fashion Week cities (Paris, London, and Tokyo), followed by the official European launch in July. The rest of the world will only get to see this at the end of this year.

Other travel essentials and merchandise from the 500 by Gucci collaboration such as SLGs, tracksuits, driving gloves, sunglasses and a watch will also be available in select Gucci stores and Gucci Online come April 2011.
