Van Cleef & Arpels’ New Additions to the Frivole Collection For 2019
Like clockwork, every Spring, Van Cleef & Arpels launches several new additions to the Frivole Collection, and this year is no exception. With the heart-shaped petals as the distinctive characteristic of the Frivole (translation: “Frivolous), the collection takes inspiration fro archival pieces that date back to the 1920s, including the mirror polish technique used to craft these beauties.
6 new creations will be joining the fanciful floral family this year, including a “between the finger” ring, a bracelet and necklace in yellow gold and diamonds, and 3 other white gold and diamonds variations, consisting of a mini-model pendant, bracelet, and pair of earrings.
Just like all the pieces belonging to the Frivole collection, all of the flower’s petals in mirror-polished yellow gold and pave-set diamonds, are designed to catch the light. For the Between the Finger ring, each corolla is inclined at a different angle, with petals elevated and finely curved. The bracelet (5 flower motif) and the necklace (9 flower motif) from the new 2019 offerings feature blooms that alternate between gold petals, and pavé diamond petals.
The new white gold and diamond necklace, bracelet, and earrings, are miniature version of the Frivole flowers – all of which, are single flower pavé set with diamonds. The diamonds here, are of the highest colour and clarity, and the stones utilised are only D to F, and IF to VVS, respectively.
For those of you who know me personally, you’d know that I’m a total rings person, and am a huge fan of 2- 3- or even 4- finger rings, as well as between the finger versions, so, yep, the “between the finger” ring is hands down my favourite in the entire collection!
