Piaget’s New 2019 Additions to the Possession Collection
Last week, we had the privilege of attending a private session at Piaget, for a preview of the latest additions to the iconic Possession Collection for 2019. First launched almost 30 years ago, Possession is known for its rotating rings that encircle the stones which can be turned and played with.
This year, Piaget adds white chalcedony to the collection, exclusively for this year only. Natural and untreated, this pure white gemstone that belongs to the Quartz family is not just extremely rare, but also possesses healing properties, believed to bring the wearer a sense of calmness and peace of mind. Like all the other pieces in the Possession collection, which utilises cabochons, this white chalcedony version, is no exception. The white chalcedony versions of the jewellery come in a medium rose gold bangle with rotating bands of 30 diamonds; a 15-carat cabochon rose gold pendant encircled by a band with 28 rotating brilliant-cut diamonds which can be worn long (up to 85 cm) or with its chain doubled for a shorter length; and a small rose gold ring, paved with 10 brilliant-cut diamonds on each cabochon.
Also joining the Possession family, are the new hoop earrings. For something chunkier, there’s the medium-szied rose gold hoops with diamonds and detachable studs, which can be worn in 3 ways: hoops with the studs, as studs on their own, or mixed and matched with a hoop on one side, while a stud sits on the other lobe. A smaller size is also available with diamonds and a rotating band. This was possibly my favourite of all. Now, if only my ears are pierced! *le sigh*
Already available in 2 sizes, Piaget now adds a larger, chunkier size to its range of bangles, which look as good stacked, or sitting solo on your wrist. that’s available in 3 new variations: rose gold with malachite, and fully paved dazzling cabochons in either rose or white gold, with matching rings to go with them! Shine, baby shine! Personally, I think that this larger version, also doubles as a great unisex piece, for men.
Last, but certainly not the least, are the latest Possession watches, which come in 2 sizes, and interchangeable straps that can be easily swapped out. Available in both 29mm and 34mm, each timepiece comes with the original strap, and another strap, in the colour of your choice. New to the family, is a variation in an intense dark rose hue, with a rose gold bezel that spins freely. If scarlet isn’t your hue, there’s also the paved dial and bezel version (also in 29 and 34 mm), as well as a fully paved model in white gold.
Thanks to Team Piaget for having us at the exclusive preview!
