Christmas Gift Ideas #5: Gifts For Her
You’ve seen our Christmas Gifting Guide for Him earlier this week, and now, as promised, here’s our final chapter in our Christmas Edit, the “For Her” edition!
The Cinhetic bag by Hermès is one of my favourites, because I just love the very modernist “H” clasp that’s unlike previous H bags. Slightly more artsy fartsy, a little more fun, the Cinhetic now comes in a mini wallet (or, rather, WOC) version. Equipped with a card slot, an open compartment, and a zippered compartment on the inside, you can use this mini little beauty as a WOC, or detach the strap and use it as a compact wallet. This version right here is in Mysore goatskin with palladium hardware, in rose été. Oh, and did I mention that you can order this bag via the official Hermès website without putting your name on the waiting list? Now tell me, how often does this happen, eh? 😉
For those of us who’ve ever tried looking for money clips, especially those for women, we know that they’re really hard to come by. In fact, finding one in the stores is like finding a needle in a haystack! Now that bags are getting smaller and mini bags are trending, I often find myself having to leave my wallet at home because it just wouldn’t fit into my bag. Chanel‘s quilted calfskin caviar money clip is the answer to my prayers (and maybe yours too!), and finally, I wouldn’t have to rummage around my tiny bag for the right amount of cash to pay for my purchases with. Seriously, money clips are super difficult to find, so brb, while I head on over to the store to snap this up.
Also making our list, is Cartier‘s new slimmer Juste Un Clou bracelets and rings. Although I personally love the original, chunkier version of the nail rings and bracelets, I know a lot of you preferred them if they came in a slightly daintier version. So here they are, the bracelets and rings in yellow, pink, and white gold. Wear each on its own, or stack them up for an enviable #armstack.
Phone covers are yet another amazing stocking stuffer that look great, and wouldn’t burn a huge hole in your pocket. With the edges surrounding your phone all covered, these velvet Iphoria iPhone X covers at US$45 each, are not just functional by offering protection for your mobile, but are super cute and Holiday-appropriate too. I don’t know about you, but velvet is a material that I often associate with the Holiday season, but that aside, how often do you come across velvet phone covers?
With our smartphones getting bigger once again, Bottega Veneta realised that they wouldn’t fit the classic Knot clutch. And yep #truestory because whenever I carry my Knot to an event, I always have to carry my phone separately, on its own. Bottega’s solution is this Chain Knot clutch in a bigger size which now fits your phone! And here, we have this gorgeous studded version which I found difficult to walk away from when I saw it in the boutique over the weekend while shopping for a Christmas gift for mummy dearest. This studded version from the Fall/Winter 18 collection is a true testament to craftsmanship involving gold chains placed under the nappa leather, which is then inlaid with metal studs and a laminated cord on both sides of the bag. This gives off the illusion that it’s a combination of gold micro studs and bigger flat-topped silver studs, when in actual fact the only studded bits, are the silver ones at the centre of the bag.
If fine jewellery isn’t her thing, how about this silk tie bracelet by Salvatore Ferragamo? What’s great about this is that there are 2 different prints on each side, so when you’ve got it wrapped around your wrist you’d see both prints peeking out. Oh, and unlike the Hermès twillys where the hardware/scarf ring is sold separately, this one comes with the gold-toned Ferragamo Gancio logo! Oh, and with a length of 33 inches (84cm), it’s long enough to even wear several ways: it in your hair as a headband, or even around your waist as a silk belt! At just US$180, it’s definitely worth it! (Also available in red).
Tiffany & Co.‘s signature fragrance, Diamond, is one of our all-time favourites. With a vert de mandarine top note, heart note of iris, and base not of musk and patchouli, this unique combination is certainly a scent worth investing in. For the Holiday Season, Tiffany has introduced a Limited Edition Diamond coffer box for the 75ml EDP bottle, inspired by the facets of Tiffany’s diamond cuts. Not overpowering or extremely floral, but extremely pleasant and classy, you won’t have to worry about smelling “too mature”, if you know what we mean! 😉
