Bulgari’s Iconic B.Zero1 Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary With Limited Edition Pieces
Bulgari‘s iconic B.Zero1 celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year. The collection first made its debut in 1999, with a unique, multiple-ringed design deriving inspiration from Rome’s Colosseum. Crafted using what the Maison has called the “Tubogas” method, this is a solder-free technique whereby strips of gold are wrapped, coiled, attached and capped off with flat rings on both the top and bottom with the engraved BVLGARI BVLGARI logo around its circumference.
The B.Zero1 has been one of the most popular jewellery collections at the Maison, and since its introduction, Bulgari has collaborated with Sir Anish Kapoor for its 10th Anniversary edition, replacing the rings with a single contoured band of reflective mirror-like finished steel set between two pink gold rims. Yet another noteworthy collaboration was with world-renowned architect, Dame Zaha Hadid, in 2017, who replaced the classic cylindrical bands, with wavy lines that form a squiggly, haphazard pattern, which is my favourite B.Zero1 piece to date.
This year, the Bulgari has released a special commemorative edition of the original 5-band B.Zero1 ring, but this time, in pink gold, as well as others in white gold, and yellow gold. For the ultimate collector, there’s the 5-band ring in white gold with pavé diamonds. All of these 4 designs are Limited Editions, and thus, will have XX Anniversary engraved on the inner band of the rings.
Also part of the 20th Anniversary collection, Bulgari reissues new versions of the B.Zero1 Design Legend rings by Zaha Hadid, which now come in both white or black ceramic, with pink gold.
The B.Zero1 is such an icon and wardrobe staple, they’re instantly recognisable. If you’ve been thinking about scoring something from the collection, but haven’t done so, perhaps these Limited Edition beauties would finally convince you to do so! #notanad
