Vivienne Westwood & 60 Celebs Launch “Save The Arctic” Charity Initiative
The fashion world has been championing charity campaigns and drives for some time now, and the latest to embark on this endeavour, is Dame Vivienne Westwood. The Brit fashion designer who is credited for making Punk fashionable, is on a mission to “Save the Arctic”. Together with photographer Andy Gotts MBE, Westwood has managed to get a total of 60 personalities (shot entirely in black and white) from the worlds of fashion, music, and film to come together for this campaign initiative. Celebs include Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Stella McCartney, Georgia May Jagger, Rita Ora, Dame Judy Dench, George Clooney, among others, sporting a Vivienne Westwood-deisgned “Save the Arctic” t-shirt. These photos are exhibited along escalators that go up to the London’s Shell headquarters, which is due to start drilling in the Arctic by this month. Silent protest has never looked more fashionable, not to mention that, according to Westwood, 7 million have signed the “Save the Arctic” petition.
These Westwood “Save the Arctic” tees are made from unbleached organic cotton by a cooperative in Peru, printed in the UK and are G.O.T.S. (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. If you’d like to show you support, the unisex tees are available right here .
