Miu Miu continues its collaboration with inspiring and powerful women in their “Women’s Tales” series of short films. This fifth short under the series, entitled “The Door” is directed by Ava DuVernay, the first African-American woman to win the Best Director Prize at Sundance Film Festival for her second feature film “Middle of Nowhere” in 2012. Starring Gabrielle Union, a change of clothing is symbolic of a new beginning that slowly draws the protagonist out of her funk.

Director DuVernay on the film:  “In the film, characters arrive at the door of a friend in need, bringing something of themselves … Eventually, we witness our heroine ready to walk through the door on her own. The door in the film represents a pathway to who we are.”
