Prada Relaunches The Linea Rossa Line

Prada‘s Linea Rossa first made its runway debut as part of the men’s and women’s Fall/Winter 1997 collection. It was a special line on its own, that set itself apart from Prada’s mainline. As its name suggests, all items from the Linea Rossa collection exuded a more sporty, athletic sorta vibe. With use of more technical fabrics, it could be distinguished by a thin red strip with “PRADA” in white. Despite its popularity, the House eventually discontinued this line.

Prada Linea Rossa

Fast forward to 2018, and here we are, with Prada’s revival of the Linea Rossa. Still drawing from its original sportswear aesthetic, with the signature red strip, the refreshed collection may be considered  a new and improved version of the line, thanks to cutting-edge technology pertaining to textile manufacturing. Nanotech fabric, which body temperature regulation technology; Graphene (a derivative of graphite) used in combination with recycled polyester for padding; Goretex Pro water-repellent microfibre; and ultralight Nylon 3L with high abrasion resistance.

Comprising a unisex range of outerwear, bucket hats, and double-velcro sneakers, to name a few, the new Linea Rossa collection comes muted colours like classic black, light grey, and navy, along with flouro shades like acid green, neon orange, and shocking pink.  The result? A genderless collection that’s functional, yet no less fashionable – the Linea Rossa 2.0, if you will.

The Linea Rossa is available for purchase in selected Prada boutiques globally.
