Prada Menswear Spring/Summer 18 Ad Campaign

Prada‘s Menswear Spring/Summer 2018 Ad Campaign, entitled Real Life Comix, takes inspiration from the world of graphic novels. Utilising the technique of narrative imagery, artists Ollie Schrauwen and James Jean (yep the same artist who did the illustrations for Prada’s Fairytale collection in 2008 and the “bunnies” from Resort 2018) worked together to decorate both the Prada Men’s and Women’s show space and collection. Taking a postmodernist approach, the campaign is made up of fragmented stories, that are combined to create a new contemporary narrative. Shot by Willy Vandeperre, the juxtaposition between coloured photography and black-and-white, and portraits versus detail shots, is suggestive of the panes of the comic book.
