Newsflash: Gucci to Present Spring/Summer 19 in Paris

Gucci will present their Spring/Summer 2019 collection in Paris on September 24 instead of its usual spot during the first day of Milan Fashion Week. This is the final chapter of a three-part homage to France. Under the supervision of Creative Director Alessandro Michele, it began with  the French tribute with the Prefall 2018 campaign, which recreated the May 1968 student protests in Paris, followed by the upcoming Cruise 19 show will be held in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Les Alycamps in Arles.

Gucci is a global brand with deep and vibrant Italian roots and a visionary French shareholder, Kering. When Alessandro told me of his desire to present the new collection in Paris – continuing the French-inspired narrative – I thought it was a perfect way to continue the creative homage to France. We have chosen to present the show on Monday, September 24th, the transition day between Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks to avoid impacting schedules. We will then look forward to returning to Milan in February 2019. ~Marco Bizzarri, Gucci President and CEO ~
