Yes, you read that right, Donatella Versace was just announced as the new face of Givenchy’s next advertising campaign. In fact, it was Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci who broke the news with the photo above captioned with “So proud and honoured to introduce my new ultimate icon: Donatella Versace … FW15 Givenchy Family Campaign MORE TO COME SOON!” on his Instagram account. Hashtagged with “Mertandmarcus”, it refers to the fashion photog duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott giving us a somewhat confirmed status on the photographers for the FW15 campaign. Donatella also followed up with a post on Givenchy’s official Twitter account, saying “For my talented friend Riccardo. Together we break fashion boundaries today!”

I guess that this really is the age of friendly competition given that these 2 luxury fashion houses are competitors. Hats off for the mutual respect for each other!
