Gucci’s Chateau Marmont Collection

Gucci has collaborated with renowned Californian luxury hotel Chateau Marmont on a Capsule Collection for Cruise 2019. The collection comprises a selection of ready-to-pieces for both men and women including tees, sweatshirts, wool blazers, a gabardine trench, as well as drawstring leather totes inspired by the hotel’s laundry bags, and a medium-sized Jackie GG Hobo – all of which feature either “Chateau Marmont Hollywood” in gothic script, or the silhouette of Pan,  the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature of mountain wilds, rustic music and impromptus, and companion of the nymphs.

A prominent figure in ancient Greek mythology, Pan has been the hotel’s mascot since its inception in 1991. This faun-like creature with the hindlegs and horns and ears of a goat, but arms and torso of a man, is depicted on the original fountain in the courtyard colonnade of the famed hotel. However, unlike traditional Greek mythology, this version of Pan that the hotel has adopted instead depicts him playing an ancient ceremonial trumpet.
