#PFW: Miu Miu Spring/Summer 19 Runway & Bags Report
Miu Miu‘s Spring/Summer 19 collection somehow felt more grown up this time around. Gone are the slightly rebellious girls, and in their place, a whole lot of femininity thanks to the crushed fabrics, denim, sequinned slip skirts, oversized rosettes and bows, and of course, the sparkle. Though I’m not a fan of the denim looks in the collection, when paired together with the sequinned elements, it was certainly an interesting way to “luxe up” the casual vibes. As for the blazers and double-breasted outerwear, they’re were a little too relaxed in silhouette for my taste.
The bags, on the other hand, ranged from feminine top handle jewel detail bags, to slightly edgier versions that came embellished with studs, which were more of my thing. In fact, I found the bucket-esqe studded tulip bag quite an interesting silhouette. Oh, and judging from the bags and the show space decor, it seems as if there’s a new Miu Miu monogram in town.
The Verdict: I prefer the RTW over the bags because there are several looks which I’d actually wear as they are. But my opinion may be biased because I’m a huge fan of bows and oversized rosette details. Perhaps it would’ve been better to have more rosette detail bags save for just that one bag in order to make the collection more thematically seamless.
