Paris Fashion Week: Celine Spring/Summer 2012 Bags
The Verdict: So I absolutely think Phoebe Philo is a GENIUS and I swear that the woman has the Midas Touch because she just has a knack for turning under-the-radar brands into something to be reckoned with. With Chloe, she had everyone scrambling to get a piece of the Paddington, and now, with Celine, the fashion Glitterati can’t get enough of Celine’s Luggage Totes, Cabas and Box Bags which have been turned into Celine’s house icons. That said, I really can’t say much about this collection because the bags seem a little, well, bland. While Philo is known for her minimalist chic approach to design, these bags just seem like they’ve been done before – from the hobo bags to the envelope-styled bags (and I don’t like the colours she chose to colour block with), haven’t we seen them before? I’m really not a fan of this collection but if I HAD to choose, I’d probably go for the oversized envelope clutches.
But then again, I’d choose this over any of the runway bags.

And for those of you who are wondering, yes, this is my latest addition to my bag closet. The Celine Luggage Tote in Taupe, which I got in London, and haven’t yet used.
