You all know by now that I’m currently in London for Fashion Week. I must say that the Burberry team is super efficient as the moment I checked into the hotel, THIS was waiting for me (see photo below)… and what a great “Welcome to London” present indeed! You could imagine how stoked I was, as this is my first ever Fashion Week as a blogger, and to score the Burberry show, which I’m told is one of THE biggest shows for LFW is incredibly awesome!
The Burberry Spring/Summer 2012 invitation resembled a wooden business card
Although the show is set for 4pm (as you can see from the invitation above), I was told to be there earlier to catch all the celebrities. So there I was at 3:10pm, waiting for the entrance to open. 10 minutes later, the gates opened, and we were all allowed into the venue, which resembled a giant greenhouse with lots of natural sunlight (thank goodness, because it had been raining the past few days) streaming into the venue.

The show venue — you can see what I mean by giant greenhouse now, can’t you? ;D

Anna Wintour!
Once Anna Wintour arrived, the show began in a couple of minutes, without much warning. No removal of plastic wrap on the runway, no lights dimming, except the background music dying down for awhile. Once the music started up again, the show had begun.

I actually have a video of the final walkthrough but it would take too long to upload so yea. Anyway, after the show I headed backstage to have a touch and feel of the clothes and of course, the bags, which were either mainly inspired by tribal-esque details or the Burberry house check (or novacheck), and all made of straw/raffia with leather trims and details. This is a debut season for Burberry’s Whipstitch bag. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on some backstage photos..

And as a treat for you guys, and in lieu of my blog’s 3rd Anniversary which is today (yay! nice birthday celebration for my blog eh, to spend it at the Burberry show?)
Oh, and before I forget, all you Burberry fans would probably know that Burberry usually has this Runway to Reality thing, where you get to shop the collection online right after the show. Yes, they take pre-orders, so all you have to do is to place your order, and you’ll get your bag in 3 months, even before it is available in stores so hop on over to Burberry.com, because you only have until 26th September to do so!
Good night from London!
