BTS Videos of Dior’s Autumn/Winter 19 Ready-To-Wear Collection
Today, we have something special for all of you lovelies! Team Dior has very kindly given us exclusive release of these Behind-the-Scenes videos for their recent Autumn/Winter 2019 show ahead of any digital publications in Malaysia.
For this collection, Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri took inspiration from the Teddy Boys, a British subculture of the 1950s, where men reappropriated and revived Edwaridian style. With this in mind, Chiuri created her very own female version of the subculture, the Teddy Girls, as a way of exploring and rediscovering Monsieur Dior’s 1950s “New Look”, but with a twist. The result? A collection with and abundance of a hybrid between top hats from the Edwardian Era and bucket hats, and men’s jackets with velvet scarves, full skirts, jeans, and black leather jackets.
Now, here are the 2 videos. The first is a look at the savoir-faire that went into making this AW19 season’s Toile de Jouy featuring a tropical rainforest, including parrots, chameleons, parrots, cacti, and palm trees. The second, featuring Boy George, and the atelier hard at work, putting the collection together.
Special thanks to Team Dior for the exclusive!
