Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs tells us what went into the preparations for the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2012-13 runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Watch the video below for backstage footage and mayhem, and of course the epic steam train dubbed as the “Vuitton Express”, which reportedly costed US $8 million!

And since so much was spent into the construction of the steam train, why waste it? On July 19th this year, the same train will be chugging into the show venue, on the Shanghai Bund at 9pm. Vuitton’s Shanghai show is said to be an exact reproduction (or re-enactment, if you like) of the PFW show, where models will disembark with porters and circle around the train in the exact manner that they did in Paris.
