Today, the fashion world has lost one of the greatest creative geniuses of all time. Dominican designer Oscar de La Renta, has lost a battle to cancer at age 82, a disease he has been fighting since 2006.

Despite his illness, he continued to charm us with his amazing talent, season after season. Known for his beautiful evening and bridal gowns, he is a celeb red carpet favourite. Let me share with you some of my favourites from his recent Resort 2015 and Spring/Summer 2015 collections

In fact, his last project which made headlines on 30th September was Amal Clooney’s wedding gown for her marriage to George Clooney. And just last week, he named a new Creative Director, Peter Copping (former Creative Director at Nina Ricci) as his successor.

Oscar de La Renta, you will, forever in our minds, be a true fashion icon, and the beauty of your ethereal and romantic gowns will always be a living testament to this. We mourn your loss, and you will forever be missed.
