Newsflash: Hubert de Givenchy Dies at 91
The fashion world has lost yet another great. Founder of Maison Givenchy, Hubert de Givenchy has passed away at age 91.

I’m sure most of us remember him best for the iconic LBD that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Dare I say, Monsieur Givenchy was the designer who made the little black dress a timeless wardrobe staple. The “Balloon Coat” and “Babydoll” dress were also some of the creations he pioneered during the course of his career.

Hollywood’s leading ladies of the time (Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman, and of course Audrey Hepburn, to name a few) as well as royals such as Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Lee Radziwill, and Baroness Pauline de Rothschild, were also ardent fans.
According to WWD, “his family plans a private funeral and requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to UNICEF in his name.”
