Marc by Marc Jacobs To Design Alice In Wonderland Capsule Collection

By now, it’s no secret that Marc by Marc Jacobs will be discontinued, with the Resort 2016 collection as his last for the more youthful MbMJ label. And, in whatever he does, Marc Jacobs always finishes in a big way (remember his last collection for Louis Vuitton?) and this time isn’t any different! For his MbMJ swan song, he has collaborated with Disney to create an Alice-inspired collection as homage to the Tim Burton Sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass which is due for release in May 2016.  Hmm… perhaps he was inspired by the time he starred as the Caterpillar in that monumental Alice-themed Vogue spread from 2003 photographed by Annie Leibovitz which also starred other designers  as characters from the book/film?

Well, no one would know for sure, but the upcoming collection, called “I Am Not Like Other Girls”, will comprise of accessories and clothing. Expect sweaters, sunnies, bags, watches, jewellery, with oversized bows, hearts and flowers. Priced between US$60 and $400, the capsule collection will drop in November. The brand will also have Alice In Wonderland-themed windows for its final window display at selected MbMJ stores during the Holiday season. It’s definitely our last chance to grab something from MbMJ before it ceases to exist!
