Designer Pudsey Bears Up for Auction

Last year’s inaugural collaboration with 14 designers for the Designer Pudsey collection raised over £50,000 for the BBC Children’s Charity, and was voted as one of The Independent’s “Top 15 Fashion Moments Of the Year”. After last year’s success, the Designer Pudsey collection is back!

Curated by Katie Grand, over 30 international and British designers have come on board with this project, by styling and reinventing Pudsey in a style that is true to their brand and design aesthetic. Many have utilised their inspirations that reflect their current collections.

Here are my favourites:

Pudsey by Anya Hindmarch inspired by her “All I’ve Ever Wanted” Autumn/Winter 2012-13 collection
Pudsey by Diane von Furstenberg featuring her famous “Love is Life” motto
Pudsey by Gucci, true to its equestrian heritage
Pudsey by Jonathan Saunders in the same custom SS13 print for London Fashion Week
Pudsey by Kate Spade
Pudsey by Mulberry, seen with a miniature of the latest Bryn bag
Pudsey by Norton & Sons
Pudsey by Paul Smith
Pudsey by Prada, wearing platformed espadrille brogues that were a big hit
Pudsey by Smythson, seen with bags and their luxe leather-bound notebooks
Pudsey by Tom Ford
Pudsey by Victoria Beckham
Pudsey by Vogue Magazine, made from a collage of prints of Vogue covers

All these bears are up for auction with proceeds going to the BBC’s Children in Need charity and were displayed in the windows of London’s Selfridges. Now, they’re up for auction at Christie’s, some with a reserve price of £1,000, and the others, you’d have to contact Christie’s via ukbids@christies.com to submit your bid. Other designers who have participated include Fendi, Balenciaga, Giles Deacon, Henry Holland, Loewe, Vivienne Westwood, Louis Vuitton, Missoni, and many more.

The auction ends on Sunday November 18.
