This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Musée Christian Dior as well as the Maison’s 70th Anniversary. In celebration of these milestones, Dior will be hosting an retrospective entitled Christian Dior and Granville: The Source of the Legend, at Monsieur Dior’s childhood home, in Normandy.

The exhibit pays particular attention to the founder’s childhood, which, in his case, foreshadowed the man that he grew into and the couturier that we have all come to know and respect. Curated by fashion historian Florence Müller, the exhibit takes us from his childhood days, right up to the designs he came up with in his couture house. Spanning across 3 floors, be prepared to be taken back in time, because the exhibition recreates the era during which Christian Dior was living at Granville. The archival materials on display don’t just act as “living proof”, but also works to communicate the times through which he lived, more effectively.

The Dior and Granville: The Source of the Legend exhibit will run from April 8 through to September 24 (10am to 6:30pm), at the Christian Dior Museum and Garden, Villa Les Rhumbs, in Granville.
