Vivienne Westwood x Burberry Collection FULL Ad Campaign
Earlier this year, Burberry revealed a collaboration with British Queen of Punk Vivienne Westwood. The partnership is a celebration of British style and heritage imbued Westwood’s edgy design aesthetic of her most iconic pieces. The result? A Limited Edition collection comprising double-breasted jacket from her “Always on Camera” AW 1992 collection, tailored high-wasted trousers, silk shirt with oversized collar, boxer shorts with front pleats, graphic printed tights, wool beret with slogan pinks, lace-up platforms, and both the “hugger jacket” and “mini kilt” from her 1993 Anglomania collection. And, in this age of revivalism in fashion, it’s no surprise that all of these pieces are in Burberry’s vintage check.
The accompanying campaign for this special collaboration shot in London by David Sims, stars Kate Moss, Sistren, Leonard Emmanuel, Jacob Shifrin, Andreas Kronthaler, Andy Bradin, Josh Quinton, LadyFag, DelaRosa, Caludia Lavender, Sashadavai, Marco Motta, and Vivienne Westwood herself.
Vivivenne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something.
She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud fo what we will be creating together ~ Riccardo Tisci, Burberry Chief Creative Officer ~
In addition to the collaboration, Westwood and Tisci have pledged their support to Cool Earth, a UK-based non-profit organisation which focuses on the environment, committed to topping deforestation. Both designers have dedicated an oversized t-shirt to the charity, which comes with a handwritten message from Westwood herself. She will also customise 4 exclusive items from the collection, which will be auctioned to raise more funds in aid of Cool Earth.
The collection, along with the oversized tee, is now available at select Burberry boutiques worldwide, and Burberry.com
