Versace Spring/Summer 2020 FULL Ad Campaign

Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lopez star in Versace‘s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign. No surprises here, because we all still remember that pivotal moment during the SS20 runway show when JLo strutted down the runway in a variation of that iconic Jungle Print dress with the plunging neckline that she wore 20 years ago to the 2000 Grammys.

In terms of my career, the Jungle dress really marked a moment in time. To me, Versace represents empowerment and putting something beautiful out into the world. It’s a dream to collaborate with my friend Donatella again on this gorgeous campaign and to create something new and fresh out of a piece of iconic fashion history ~ Jennifer Lopez ~

For SS2020, the House brings the iconic Jungle print back once again, and built an entire capsule around it, offering separates like the pantsuit and blazer combo, as well as miniskirts, and button-up jackets alongside glamorous evening dresses, like that fringed flapper-inspired dress we see JLo in, and sculptural form-fitting black mini dresses that seem as if they’ve been moulded onto the body of the wearer.

The campaign is imbued with futuristic vibes with a holographic search webpage, where narcissism reigns, as both Kendall and JLo type in their names  into the search bar. This perhaps is Donatella’s narrative of the times in which we live, in a Social Media Age that is so deeply embedded into our very own lives, where self-image and self-presentation on the Web, becomes one of the most important ways through which we brand ourselves so much so that we become our image as the private “IRL” self bleeds into the online self, and vice versa. In short, the campaign is deeply reflective social commentary of our current state of being; of the blurring of the private and public spheres of everyones’ lives, if you will.
