Nicki Minaj Is The New Face of Roberto Cavalli’s SS15 Campaign

This was rather shocking news to me when I heard that Nicki Minaj is the face for Roberto Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 15 Tribal Dance ad campaign! According to Cavalli, Nicki was the perfect fit because she is a woman who clearly celebrates her curves instead of hiding them. Sure, sometimes, her style DOES fit with the Cavalli aesthetic (with her penchant for animal prints), and I’m all for curves instead of stick thin, flat-chested models, but high fashion … that’s something I’m a lil iffy about when it comes to Minaj… (don’t hate me you Minaj fans!)

Here are the FULL ad campaign images shot in Los Angeles by photographer Francesco Carrozzini:

Cavalli says that, “With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong countertrend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves, rather she makes them a strength. … I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman.”

Despite this, though, it is already quite apparent that Minaj  has had massive photoshop work done here, because we all know that she is WAY curvier than this *points to her shrunken butt*… Perhaps for Cavalli, curvier = boobs instead of the entire package? Thoughts?
